We'll start rolling out updates as soon as the guys wrap up their visits today.
A couple of notes:
- There's a good chance Arkansas receives some silent commitments over the next few days, but those guys will want to wait and announce on Signing Day. This week is key as Bret Bielema will do several in-home visits this week.
- Not expecting any public commitments today.
- As of today, you're probably looking at around 5-7 official visitors for next weekend, but that number could grow or shrink depending on what happens over the next few days.
- A lot to get to today, so we'll have plenty of updates and stories coming soon. Stick around.
- 11:22 UPDATE: As if y'all haven't already figured this out, just wanna make sure everyone is clear that Tyrell Alexander was the secret visitor this weekend. He's committed to Oklahoma State but has never shut the door on Arkansas. He visited last summer and allowed me to report that visit then. OSU wants him at WR and I think that's what he would rather play, but Arkansas has left the door open by offering a chance to play "multiple" positions, though they love him at CB. Obviously Logan Tuley-Tillman's name got out on his own mistake, by having his location turned on when he tweeted from the campus.
- 1:30 UPDATE:
Both Briston Guidry and Dejon Harris want to relay a message to the fans that there's absolutely nothing for you to worry about with them taking one last visit. Both said they're 100 percent to the Hogs. I've spoken to both, both on and off the record, and maybe I'm naive but I believe the kids when they say they just want to enjoy some trips and have fun.
Briston is trading his OU visit for a trip to Arizona State. (Smart move if you're just looking to have fun. Good move, my man.)
Briston was hosted by Rummel product Henre' Toliver. He said he was thrilled when Coach Segrest announced he was staying with the Hogs. Briston said, "I feel like we have a great shot at him," on Kristian Fulton.
Dejon will still visit Alabama this weekend, but at this point, he'd need an Academy award if he ends up anywhere but Arkansas. I just feel like he's locked in with the Hogs and really just wants to see some things, which he's earned the right to do.
Jake Heinrich had a great visit. A little more background story on Kurt Anderson ripping his pants before his in-home with Heinrich: Anderson had to scramble and find some new khakis, and then he needed to find a place to change clothes. He ended up at a gas station and they didn't have a bathroom available for him to change in, so the lady working there said, "Well, you can go in our beer cooler." So that's what he did. The story I heard was some guy reached in for a 12 pack of beer and saw Kurt on the other side changing his pants. Wish I could've seen the look on that guy's face. So, meet your new O-line coach, Kurt Anderson. (Seems like a good dude, really.)
Kofi Boateng also enjoyed his visit quite a bit. He was hosted by Anthony Antwine. He said he spent a lot of time with Brandon Jones and Kristian Fulton and told them they're changing the culture at Arkansas.
