Arkansas has landed their fourth commitment of the 2025 class.
Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff three-star linebacker Jayden "JJ" Shelton has pledged to the Razorbacks. Shelton is the second prospect from Texas to join Arkansas' class.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder chose the Razorbacks over offer 25-plus offers from programs such as LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas, among others.
Shelton spoke with Rivals to comment on his decision. The coaching staff, especially the defensive coordinator, was the catalyst for his recruitment.
"Arkansas is a beautiful school and it has a great coaching staff. Coach (Travis) Williams knows what he’s doing and knows how to get linebackers to the next level, and that’s where I want to go."
Shelton was incredibly productive in his junior season at South Oak Cliff. Playing in 15 games, he accumulated 119 total tackles and 13 tackles for loss. He also added two interceptions and one sack.
