We've been in the SEC for nearly 25 years and we've yet to win the SEC.
We've been to what is considered a "BCS" bowl one time.
Our recruiting classes are always fairly similar...20ish to 30ish and lower half of the SEC.
Normally, on the field we finish overall somewhere in the middle of the pack (historically over a 25 year period) in the SEC.
In other words, everything about us says we are stuck in the middle. Sometimes we rise above the middle...sometimes sink below...but we're pretty much average in so many ways.
Somewhere along the way, we have to change the way we do things. I'm not saying change coaches, per se...but the entire way we promote ourselves. There have been programs that have made changes and gone from nothing to something (Va Tech, Oregon, Baylor, TCU...and now Ole Miss). If they can do it, we can do it. We just have to make a concerted effort to say we're going to become "hip" and do what it takes to make it happen.
