September 12th:
- 1970 - #4 Stanford beat #10 Arkansas 34-28 in Little Rock. Stanford led 27-0 in the 2nd quarter. Jim Plunkett threw for 245 yards and 3 TDs. Arkansas had a chance to tie or win late but on 4th and goal from the 5, UA's Bill Montgomery was stopped a foot short of a first down with 22 seconds left in the game.
- 1981 - Arkansas beat Tulsa 14-10 in Fayetteville. Tulsa led 10-0 until UA running back Thomas Brown threw a pass to Derek Thomas who ran 41 yards for a touchdown with 1:14 left in the 3rd, then Bruce Lahay kicked 2 field goals in the last 5 minutes of the game to take the lead.
- 1987 - #13 Arkansas beat Ole Miss 31-10 in Jackson. OM actually outgained UA 377 to 282 in offensive yards but OM killed itself with multiple turnovers, highlighted by a 16-yard INT return for a TD by Steve Atwater.
- 1992 - a week after losing to The Citadel and in its first SEC game, Arkansas won at South Carolina 45-7. Jason Allen threw 2 TD passes and Orlando Watters returned both a punt and an interception for TDs. SC had 23 yards of offense in the first half.
