It was been a crazy day and I know yall are looking for an update. So last night it still sounded like there were important people not on board with Kiffin as the guy–I haven't heard much on that today as the news cycle has been dominated by Kiffin's status with Ole Miss.

It certainly looks like Ole Miss has pivoted their attention more towards Lane Kiffin and while insiders in Oxford have heard they may be interviewing him tonight in Florida–that is unconfirmed info at this point however.

A lot of people were freaking out about this...I'm sure many of you saw it, that may be a tip that he is indeed interviewing tonight.

Some have gone so far as to say that Kiffin is a done deal to Ole Miss, like what we heard about him and Arkansas Monday....but he hasn't interviewed with them yet to my knowledge so that sounds highly unlikely. Much like what I said after that hysteria, it really doesn't make sense for Kiffin and Sexton to make anything official before this weekend. Yurachek may be pushing harder for Kiffin to make a decision because donors have other candidates they want to push... like Butch Davis.

Kiffin was silent once again on coaching search rumors, as expected, but people were excited because the radio show he was on timed out after they asked him the question. He ended up saying this when asked if he plans to be at FAU next season:
“I’ve never commented on searches but that’s what I plan on."

As for Mike Leach, the extension he signed was a rollover of his contract so there's still a chance he's in the mix.

After all this hubbub, there are still sources who feel confident Arkansas will get this thing done and Kiffin will be here next year. If it comes down to money, it's not clear which school would be willing to offer the better deal and there's no credible take on which job Kiffin would really prefer more.

I'd like to think Yurachek will get this done because if yall are any indication, the fan base is not going to settle on a Holtz, Davis, Fritz, even though it's anybody's guess on how much success any of those guys could have. A lot depends on what kind of staff they'd be able to bring in.

Ima lock this but feel free to start a sort of followup commentary thread.
