Guess it was hard to attack when we ran them into their fraidy holes. People that are getting the piss bombed out of them are less likely to attack.

Here is a sample of terrorist attacks against US Targets after 9/11. I bolded those that occurred on "US Soil". It happens to be all of them because US Embassies and consulates are considered US Soil by both Domestic and International Law. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good belief system.

On June 14, 2002, the terrorist group Al Qanoon, which was suspected to be an al Qaeda branch, sent a suicide bomber into the U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, killing 12 people and injuring 51 others. Nearly a year later, four were convicted of plotting the bombing, which blew in windows and left body parts all over the sidewalks near the embassy.

On February 28, 2003, Gunmen on motorcycles attacked the U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan,
killing two police officers and wounding five other officers and a civilian in front of the consulate.

Late in the evening of May 12, 2003, gunmen entered Al Hamra Oasis Village in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a compound known to be inhabited by Americans and other Westerners.

On July 30, 2004, three suicide bombers targeting the Israeli and U.S. embassies in Taskkent, Uzbekistan managed to kill two and injure nine others.

On December 6, 2004, terrorists stormed the heavily guarded U.S. consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
, occupying it and taking 18 hostages for a time. When the incident was over, they had killed nine people, including four security guards and five staff.

On March 2, 2006, just two days before President Bush was scheduled to visit Pakistan, a suicide bomber targeted the U.S. consulate in Karachi
, killing four, including a US diplomat believed to be the target, and as many as 50 others.

On September 12, 2006, four armed gunmen stormed the U.S. embassy in Damascus
, Syria. In the 20 minute attack, they threw grenades and fired automatic weapons at guards. In the end, one person was killed and 13 wounded.

On January 12, 2007, a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the US Embassy in Athens Greece
. Thankfully, it was early morning, and the building was empty and no one was injured.

On July 9, 2008, men armed with a shotgun and pistols stormed the U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
At the end of the five-minute battle, three Turkish policemen were killed.

In 2008, there were two attacks on the U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen. The first was a mortar attack on March 18, that missed the embassy and hit a nearby girls' school, injuring 13.

September 17, 2008,
US Embassy in Yemen when terrorists dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles and grenades. There was also a car bomb. In the end, 16 were killed and many more were injured.

We had folks in office that...while not perfect...DID protect our borders and DIDN'T attack our Constitution. With that said...Tom is making a decent name for himself as a bright, young up and comer in the political circles.

Yeah, but it's not the Muslims fault is it mackey? That not letting the facts get in the way of a belief system is a two-way street. You guys need to start policing your own hypocracies before you start looking for them in others.

So he is saying nothing happened after the worst terrorist attack on US soil ever in history? You are right though, nothing happened in the US after the 3000+ Americans died and the Bush administration had every piece of intelligence needed to know an attack was possible but didn't find it credible. So if you are comparing attacks on US soil between the 2 administrations I would give it to the Administration with 3 casualties vs. 3000.

You may or may not agree with his politics (and WTF is this post doing on Hawgs anyway) but I'm not sure your comment is deserved. The man has more than walked the walk in multiple combat front line tours of duty. I proudly wore the uniform of the USAF overseas, perhaps you did too. I do not question your patriotism, but your venom seems out of place.

Tom Cotton is one of the best human beings I have ever met. If we had more in DC like him and fewer Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid types we would be much better off.

Tip of the cap to you. Excellent post....

He was obviously talking about American soil as in the U.S. mainland. While we have embassies in many countries, we are limited and many times at a disadvantage when it comes to protecting them from well devised terror attacks. Much of the protection has to come from the government/countries where these embassies are located. The Americans in Benghazi could have been saved...but our President and Secretary of State ignored/turned their backs on them. More and more proof of this is coming out despite attempts to keep it quiet. The U.S. servicemen and women are livid about being lied to and abandoned and told to "stand down" while 2 Navy Seals died trying to fight back.

Go to another site to post this
find another forum
this is about razorback sports
any post that begins with ... is an idiot should be deleted instantly, especially if it has nothing to do with Razorback athletics

Coming from the liberal side that rewrites history to support

the beliefs...try as you will to destroy the Reagan and Thatcher legacies but those of us who lived through the darkest times remember those two saved our respective countries.

Mackey that cold air must be depriving oxygen to your brain. Go find a political site for your whining

An even more excellent post Mr Nostra... My sentiments exactly.. Don't need to come to a Hog board and see liberal crying and whining..

Why would you waste your time starting a thread on your political left-wingery when we're not allowed to do that here? Pretty sure the troll is trolling.

Speaking of Dumbassery....Obama claims the Ft. Hood shooting as work place violence instead of a terrorist Attack.....hmmmmmm

Don't know what's worse. Seeing a post like this on Razor's Edge or reading the "intelligent" responses.

Can we lay off the political talk and have someone delete all of these posts? All it is going to do is start a 50/50 war between us. I'm a liberal and don't have a problem with someone being conservative. I do have a problem with someone condemning me for being a liberal. Can we just lay off it all? It will make a lot of us seem more intelligent...

Those that really know what's going on will tell you that our intel people have been handcuffed and not allowed to do "everything" possible to gather intel. Those also in the know understand that the current admin realized their mistakes and quietly went back to the old methods. Takes little time to lose intel assets and a long time to gain ground lost.

Re: Democrats-Republicans

When we can stop bashing each other because of the political party, left wing or right wing stance and come to a undertanding we are Americans and we need to come together and do whats right for the whole not just the individual nothing will get any
better IMO...Whats best for some of us will no always be whats best for the majority.
IMO again its both parties not just one, its politics not just one persons fault...

I agree. All it does is start unneeded finger pointing and name calling. Last thing we need these days is this continued divide. I agree with MP that we're all Americans and need to focus on addressing these issues instead of constantly trying to lay blame. I'm old enough to remember when being an American meant something. These days, all it seems to mean is a license to trash. Very sad.

The guy was a real turd in high school. I beat him up quite a bit while playing high school basketball against him. He snuck into some girl's house in Dardanelle while we were in high school and exposed himself to her. Sounds like a real standup guy to me.

IP cameras weren't Available in the valley in the early 90s. The guy was a pretty well-known weird, high school pervert though. Take that for what it's worth. Word travels quickly in a community as small as Arkansas River Valley. He definitely was not liked back then.

He's just doing it to stir things up. It's what he does. He's the Colin Cowherd of Hawgsports.
