this has been crazy ... for months, he was contemplating having a plate inserted and attached to his clavicle to stabilize it, then he was leaning toward a Mumford procedure to shave the collarbone down, then it was reported again that he was going to have the plate inserted, then it changed again that he has decided on the Mumford procedure.

So, today, there were conflicting published reports released on Romo's final decision ... NFL.com is reporting he will have the plate inserted, while ESPN.com is reporting it will be the Mumford procedure ... either way, the expected recovery period is 6-to-8 weeks, which means he could be ready for OTAs in May ... so who the hell knows, may all be a smokescreen to conceal that he's actually having weekend surgery to go from Finkel to Einhorn ...
