Putting this in its own thread so it isn't buried.
So, since Trilly posted it I can post some of what I've been hearing the past couple days:
That picture is of the coaches who badly want the Louisville job. I have talked to over half a dozen strong sources from all over the country this week indicating that Musselman is strongly eyeing Louisville. Some reasons I have mentioned, others I will not get into.
My research started with a text I got out of the blue early this week simply stating: "Musselman may be on his way out." It came from someone who would know, but also needed to have more source information before posting that anywhere.
Over the past few days, I have reached out to national writers, secondhand sources close to Musselman, coaches, and other insiders who all had the same response: Louisville.
Of the coaches in the square, Beard and Cronin will likely not be considered too heavily. Louisville wants to shy away from as much criticism and controversy as possible after having Pitino's issue, Mack being extorted, and now with KP and the players' issues, they want a clean public figure.
That leaves Tang and Muss. A source close to Tang's circle indicated to me that Tang is nervous of Musselman's interest in the position.
Currently, Tang's buyout is $6 million compared to Musselman's $2 million, as well.
I want to emphasize that this is very early in the process, that all of this material is subject to change, that all the coaches above are still actively coaching their teams (obviously), and that I have done about as much source research as possible for this info.
One other nugget: the common consensus among these sources was that Beard would be the top target to replace Musselman IF he were to go to Louisville
I only ask that you not freak out and post anything relating to this on social media, because I am somewhat sticking my neck out even sharing this two games into SEC play. Seriously.
