I don't see anything obvious that alerts me if there's anything new since the last time I looked at a thread. In thread view, you could see that there were new posts. That's what I liked about it. I know it's a thing of the past, but surely there is some way to know there are new posts (or not) without having to open and re-read the thread again to find out.
