  • Drew Morgan said he took a leap of faith and chose 'family' when he committed to Arkansas without a head coach under Tim Horton. Then he said 'thank goodness' they got Bret Bielema. He was also offered by Arkansas State under Gus Malzahn and then again at Auburn with Malzahn and Horton there.
  • Hunter Henry said there were times where he has been open and Brandon Allen has found another open receiver, or there are times where he is open and Allen is scrambling. Against Alabama, he said they did a great job taking him out of the game for the most part, but getting him the ball has been and will continue to be a part of the game plan.
  • All the assistant coaches reported positive results from the evaluation period over the bye week. Coaches were in Georgia, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and likely elsewhere.
  • There were also solid reviews from coaches and players regarding the early practice on Tuesday. The team finished practiced roughly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., which was possible due to fall break. Pittman said he has been on staffs in the past that practiced in the morning, and he remembers enjoying the early work. Arkansas kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday.
  • Receivers coach Michael Smith said they expect to be pressed by Auburn, just as other teams have approached them. With his tight ends, Barry Lunney Jr. said teams have challenged Arkansas tight ends in different ways each week.
  • More to come in the full report.
