  • Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema began contacting some of the Razorbacks' most wanted 2017 prospects via Direct Message on Twitter at midnight. He did this last year as well, and this was the first day per NCAA rules that he could do it for the Class of 2017. Guys like OL Trey Smith, OL Jack Anderson, LB Baron Browning and LB Anthony Hines are a few of the ones you can expect he contacted.

  • Razorback commits Austin Capps and T.J. Hammonds will attend Arkansas' game against UTEP on Saturday. So far, it looks like it'll be a relatively uneventful visit list. The Texas Tech weekend is shaping up to be a pretty good one, though.
  • Also making the trip this weekend is Little Rock Christian DT Dylan Hays, who earned a preferred walk-on spot with the Hogs after an impressive camp this summer. He recently added an offer from Missouri State.
  • Arkansas commit Hayden Johnson won't be able to make it this weekend but is likely to be here for the Texas Tech game.
  • Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County wide receiver Kiel Pollard told me tonight that he's still set for an official visit to Arkansas on the Texas Tech weekend (Sept. 19). He is a former teammate of current Razorback freshman T.J. Smith. As of now, his other two teammates that Arkansas has offered, Tennessee commit Jay Blakely and Rakeem Hightower, are not scheduled to join him on the trip.
  • Four-star OL Willie Allen of Baton Rouge (La.) John Curtis said Arkansas is still in the mix for his services, and as of today he's hoping to make an official visit during the season.
  • 2017 Nashville (Ark.) ATH Darius Hopkins is now picking up interest from Arizona State and Vanderbilt. He's one of the better players in next year's instate class.
  • Nathan Page (2018 WR) of Pulaski Robinson continues to see more and more interest coming in, as well. Duke, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and TCU are among the latest to reach out to Pulaski Robinson coaches about Page. Arkansas contacted one Robinson coach to make sure Page knew he was welcome to attend as many games as he wanted this fall. 2017 RB Myles Fells of Pulaski Robinson is also gaining interest from some of the same schools.
  • 2017 TE and Baylor commit Kedrick James said he plans to make more trips to the UA in the future, including next year on an official visit. James has close family in Fayetteville. He had 2 receptions for 66 yards and several pancake blocks in Waco La Vega's first game, which they won 56-6.
