1. I know they said momentum pulled him back into the end zone on the kick return at the one. But I still don't understand the call. I thought it should be a safety, he caught it and controlled it outside the ez, then took about 3 steps before going back into the ez. How do you get forward progress there, or if it was momentum that pulled you into the ez why not mark the ball at the 25? He didn't fair catch, so why at the 1?
I'm sure I just don't know and understand the rule, but that seemed like the least likely of 3 options.
2. Why do punters / teams not angle the ball out of bounds on short punts anymore? Is it because they shanked too many of them trying to do that? When I grew up that's about all they did was angle it out of bounds on the short ones.
