every year the weather seems to get crazier and record high's and lows. Utility rates are up and the need to use gas to heat or electricity to cool is in more demand because of these climatic high and low temperatures. How many of you guys are already running your A/C units. I am home sick today with a flu bug and I had to turn on my a/c . I have been turning on the A/c at night the past couple of weeks to cool down the house and the I bump it back up to 80 degrees once I cool it down to around 73 degrees. The house stays cooled down for the night. I live in North Dallas suburb of Prosper and we were dealing with ice and frozen precipitation this time last month!

Secondly, are any of you using solar to cool or heat your home? I would like some personal info about how effective and cost saving that option really might be. Would love to hear from some of you who are using solar energy.
