very offensive the two bill boards in harrison

God, this is embarrassing. What the hell is wrong with those "people" in Harrison?

I noticed the white pride radio sign when we went through there earlier this year....unreal!

Every time I encounter racist people ( whatever nationality) I can't help but feel sorry for them. What has to happen in a persons life to make you hate another person based on ther ethnicity? There are murderers, thieves, bigots, adulters, and liars in every race.

Even if I was, I wouldn't get in a twist about it. it is what is. People are going to hate

This post is not surprising coming from you based on your history on this board. I have a story or two I could tell about Harrison, AR based on personal experiences. Not some made up propaganda. The problem isn't the racists themselves but the people that stand by and say nothing. I have more respect for racist than I do cowards.

I question the necessity of free speech every time I check Facebook. These Billboards reaffirm that. Very poor taste.

I saw it for the first time on my way to Branson this summer. Have they always been there? I haven't ever seen them before. ghg

Certain groups can be proud of their ethnicity, but if other groups do the same thing then it's considered a form of racism.

Gotta love America...

Edit: If I posted on Facebook that "I'm proud to be white" then I would be called racist.

If I posted on Facebook that "I'm proud to be black/yellow/etc" then it would be fine.

I'm actually from Harrison and moved away, the majority of people in Harrison hate those signs and wish they would go away. It's disgusting and a horrible representation of a town....there is a lot of good people from Harrison. Sadly just like other places there a few who make the majority look bad

And I have a story or half a dozen about racism in memphis. BET and a 100 other ethnic related things should be offensive but it's not.

Thing is you can choose to be offended by everyone and everything.

Yeah and those same people in Memphis will rob me just as well. There is a difference between racism and prejiduce.

I actually believe that reasonable people from any ethnicity could come together and really not be to far apart on their beliefs of what is racism and what isn't or what is right or wrong. However, there are way too many people getting rich and famous on racism to let it end. There are so many more great people than idiots out there but a few idiots from all backgrounds are embarrassing to me. ghg

There have been some ridiculous incident lately. The UMizzou situation centered around an angry, racist, irrational mob. It was a total sham.

THIS is a legitimate complaint IMO. And sadly, given that it's in Harrison, isn't a surprise.

The signs are stupid but lets not act like it's just Arkansas. I passed a MASSIVE billboard in southern Georgia on Wednesday that simply said #SECED and a 40ft rebel flag flying on the hill next to it.

All it takes is a couple vocal idiots to make a bad name for a lot of folks. Same goes for non white demographics as well.

Harrison does not represent the state. And the few idiots there no longer represent Harrison even anymore. I watched a documentary on Harrison HS students who were livid about the reputation their town has. If I'm not mistaken their Mayor ran on the platform of running the racists out of the town and has been working on that diligently. They have had several clashes so far. Tells me that the town as a whole is against the white pride movement there. So, even in the most openly racist town in our state the majority of the town is working to get rid of the idiots.

That's a huge difference from 30 years ago.

Those billboards have nothing to do with pride.

sorry woodshed read it wrong

Somebody should erect another billboard with the caption, Dirty Love
with an image of some sort, the nature of which right now eludes me, and
the caption underneath. White Pride and the Skin Heads. Puppy Love? GIVE ME A BREAK.
