Arkansas had practice on Monday afternoon to prepare for the Texas A&M Aggies and the media was let in to view three periods of action for around 20 minutes total. The team practiced outdoors with the weather being sunny and temperatures in the low-80s in Fayetteville.
Here are a few takeaways and tidbits from what I was able to see:
Monday practice takeaways (9/25):
~ Arkansas practiced in spiders on Monday afternoon. As per usual, it was a shortened practice with just three periods of individual drills.
~ Rocket Sanders was once again practicing and he was moving well from what I could see. Sam Pittman came over and watched the running backs for a bit while I was over there and asked how I thought Rocket looked. Not that my opinion matters, but I thought Sanders was moving really well and much quicker than last week. Pittman said in his Monday press conference that he doesn’t know yet if Sanders will be good to play against Texas A&M this weekend.
~ I noticed at least three green jerseys — RB AJ Green, DB Hudson Clark and DE Quincey Rhodes Jr.
~ OL Eli Henderson and OT Luke Brown were not participating in Monday's practice. That doesn't include those who are out for the year: DB Quincey McAdoo, OL Terry Wells and WR Sam Mbake.
~ Athletics Director Hunter Yuracheck was watching Monday's practice from the sideline. He had a Starbucks coffee and was watching in the shade.
~ There really wasn't a whole lot else to say about Monday's practice. Nobody unexpected was not participating and all they did was individual drills, which we've seen over and over again since the start of fall camp.
