I know I'm missing some, so need some help here.
1- Price Holmes was a RS senior LB/S that got one in Bielema's first year. Thus didn't affect recruiting
2- Adam Deacon lineman
3- AJ Derby was on scholarship for 1 of his two years here
4- John Henson K
5- Kevin Richardson contributes in the secondary
6- Toby Baker P who did great job in 2015
7- Karl Roesler (sic) DE who has played a ton
8- Nick Thomas-Smith LB
9- Mitch Loewen
10- Alan D'apollonio- 4 year deep snapper
For the most part these guys spent 1 season on scholarship, for more than one season of in game contribution. Many people here believe that a good core of Arkansas kids will make a team one of the better Razorback squads. What's a better way than to have them come in on their own dime, working their tails off to play. Not all the ones above are Arkansas kids, but most are. Most of the walk-ons committing are two stars, but Bielema has snagged some in-state three stars. All of these are motivated becasue they know if they work hard enough they could earn a scholarship.
Preferred walk-on only means they don't have to try out for the team like the rest of undergrads. They don't necessarily make the 105 in fall camp. The coaches take the best/needed for that. Preferred means they join the team in practices after any of the camps limited to the 105. Some do end up in fall camp, but usually the guys who have been in the program for a semester or more.
