It's also the reason so many of us are pissed.....

That if we play power run ball control O while layering in the play action for balance without going full New England pass happy we still have the talent to beat aTm this week and a handful of SEC teams.

I don't think we're better than any team we play in conference but if we play clock control and use the play action to keep the Ds honest we can score with any of them while keeping the game in hand. The problem I see is depending on our QB in a tight game simply isn't an option. Better have the lead late.

If we just fill the middle of the field, press the slot and put a S in the box to cover the RB (replace the LB till they go with heavy sets) we can force these decent QBs to make exceptionaly tough passes down the field instead of the 7 and 8 yd virtual hand offs that we have been giving up right where our LBs were supposed to be.

Our D will look a lot better vs an opposing team using an in-line TE vs 4 & 5 wide spread looks. But even when we face 5 wide if we have the ball they can't score and if we close off the middle the QBs job gets a lot harder.

I know what you're thinking. Ole BOSS is crazy. Probably, but it's a tried and true way to slow a better team down and keep the game in check. If only we had a head coach who demands to see what he supposedly built this program on it just might yield better results than when we abandoned it.
