Arkansas had its third practice of the school year on Wednesday afternoon and the media was let in to view three periods of action for around 20 minutes total. The team practiced indoors at the Walker Pavilion with the temperature being mid-to-high 90s outside.

Here are a few takeaways and tidbits from what I was able to see:

Wednesday practice takeaways (8/23):

~ Arkansas practiced in spiders on Wednesday afternoon. Fans were blowing and it was slightly cooler. The air conditioning might've actually been working, as Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Wednesday that head coach Sam Pittman said the A/C would be up today.

~ Murphy also reported that Pittman revealed wide receiver Jaedon Wilson has an AC joint injury after falling on his shoulder during the media portion of practice. Pittman said it's not bad, which is a good sign as it looked worse in real time. Wilson was catching throw back passes from receivers during individual drills at practice.

~ One positive thing was the return of freshman cornerback Jaylon Braxton, who did not participate for a few days for an undisclosed reason.

~ There was once again a long list of players not participating during the media viewing portion of Wednesday's practice. If we know the reason they are out, it's in parenthesis. If we don't know why they are out, the reason for them not participating is undisclosed at this time. Here are the names I saw, but it's not limited to this list

OL Brady Latham
OL E'Marion Harris
OL Joey Su'a
LB Antonio Grier
WR Kalil Girault
OL Terry Wells (pec)
TE Hunter Talley
WR Sam Mbake (knee)

~ Wide receiver Bryce Stephens was not wearing a green jersey for the first practice in a few days. Freshman linebacker Carson Dean was in green on Wednesday

~ The team ran through individual drills and then worked on red zone routes on air throughout the shortened viewing period today. There was no 11-on-11 fastball or slot drills, so the takeaways are limited.

~ While doing routes on air, they ran groups of three receivers at times and it seemed to be a potential representation of the rotations if a game were to happen today. The first group featured Isaac TeSlaa, Andrew Armstrong and Isaiah Sategna. The second group was Tyrone Broden, Dazmin James and Bryce Stephens.

~ It's worth noting that Pooh Paul has been participating in practices for a while now after dealing with an MCL issue for a few days. Paul had some sort of wrap or brace on his left leg during today's media viewing portion, but he didn't seem to be limited at all.
