After seeing a myriad top ranked high school players talk about the rapport they developed with Arkansas coaches and how the parents loved the emphasis on academics, we obviously struck out on NSD. So what are the characteristics that make a head coach or assistant an elite recruiter?

Is it age and race? Ed Orgeron is 60, white and can barely speak the English language, but he is elite.
Is it honesty and integrity? Lane Kiffin and Trooper Taylor are known scumbags, but are elite recruiters.
Is it charisma and intelligence? Les Miles rarely forms a coherent sentence and eats grass. Yet he is also an elite recruiter.

So what makes a coach so magnetic and lovable that he can attract kids to Starkville, Knoxville and Auburn, none of which are Utopia? And are there any seminars or online courses which can help our coaches?
