Knocking on wood here...
I'm guessing most everyone here assumed that we would demolish T-Tech just like we did last year. Obviously after this passed weekend we can't assume anything, but lets say we're pissed off and we just want to destroy T-Tech to prove we're still good. Now after re-watching the game I thought our defense played fine, gave up 9 points outside of the special teams blunder. Offense wasn't very good in the redzone but we outgained them by 200 and held the ball for 15 more minutes. The latter two are a recipe for a beat down. So what if they effort wasn't there? And what if no one, including our coach wanted to play at War Memorial? Let's not forget, look at the last 4 years. What is the worst game we have played the whole year? ULM, Samford, Georgia, and now Toledo. Could it have been War Memorial? What if they just thought they would breeze through them, and it ended up being that Toledo wasn't a bad team that we could sleep walk through?
Back to my point, what if we come out pissed off and run all of Tech and just beat the crap out of them. Win like we did last year? I know we don't have Hatcher but Morgan, JC, and the rest of the corp has looked a lot better than the corp last year even with Hatcher. So lets say we beat them handily, are we still a 6-6 team? This year is far from over, it's not like we lost a conference game. For all we know it could have been a fluke and we are actually better than we all think right now.
This is obviously a lot of if's. And I'm not sure what I even think about this. But everyone is talking like our team is just all of a sudden bad, maybe we're not bad and this is the wake up call we needed. Now maybe every time we step on the field we'll be awake and ready to go. I don't know I just wanted to look at this another way rather than trying to fix all the "bad" things on the team before we know if they are actually bad. Let me know what y'all think.
