Man. What a bummer. I think we will obviously take a step back next season. How big of a step is unknown. Qualls will partly determine that. If he leaves I don't think we will even make the NIT. If he comes back we will still struggle to even be a bubble team. This program isn't built to sustain the departure of a guy like Portis. Our starting front court next year will likely be Jacorey Williams and Moses Kingsley. That is rough. A down year is one thing. They happen. What really hurts is that the 2016 recruiting class is possibly the most important in two decades. We may find ourselves trying to sign guys like Malik Monk in the midst of a horrendous season. Hopefully those recruits can focus more on the future than the present.
