The discussion in another thread about Vin Ascolese got me thinking what was the one player we didn't get that was IMO undervalued and I really wanted. For me that was Hawaiian Safety Jeremy Ioane that chose Boise St over some other solid offers. We had contact with him but never offered. He was a 3*. At the time the kid had a quick highlight film of him blowing people up and lifting some serious weights. He just had that it factor to me. I really liked the idea of a free roaming Safety looking to hurt people that could actually cover. Seriously reminded me of Troy Polamalu, not just because of his heritage or his hair but his raging style of physical play and his nose for the ball.
He red shirted and then started most of the remaining 4 seasons with Boise. He was honerable mention all conference as a So then 2nd team all conf as a JR. He was poised to be the man as a Sr and then was apparently hit with an autoimmune disease that robbed him of much of that season. This year he received a kidney transplant from his twin sister.
I really liked this kid as an underrated prospect. On one hand I'm glad he did so well and on the other it's sad to hear about his current condition
