Just saw where Linguist, who coached with Rhoads at Iowa State and was at MissStake this season, just signed on to coach DBs at Minnesota for P.J. Fleck. We haven't heard official word yet that Robb Smith is going to Minnesota as DC, just these rumors.
I'm wondering two things here: What if Rhoads is going to Minnesota instead of Smith? We were getting hints that Linguist would join Arkansas when Rhoads would be named DC. Wonder if Linguist knows he's working for Smith, or did Smith get to have a say in that?
Also, if you're PJ Fleck, even if you know Robb Smith, why wouldn't you try to hire Rhoads over Smith, based on their respective track records and previous successes?
