I’ve never been Bucknam’s biggest fan, but he has an undeniable talent of getting his runners to peak at the right part of the season. Arkansas seemed to languish through the season. After earning a preseason ranking of 4, Arkansas entered postseason (conference championships) at 27. The 5th place finish at NC’s was well ahead of their rank of 15 coming into the meet. Jack Bruce anchored the team and finished his career with another AA award.
