Call them the Cleveland "White People" or the Cleveland "Black People" and all the sudden it doesn't sound as good, does it?
I'll be the first to agree with you that people are much too offended these days, but this specific topic isn't an example of being "too offended".
Again, picture them as the Cleveland Black People and picture their mascot as "black face" and tell me again if you think people calling for the Cleveland Indians and their entirely red skinned mascot to be changed are "too offended".
