More preseason watch lists have been released, and this time Arkansas football’s Dwight McGlothern and Beaux Limmer have landed on watch lists for prestigious awards Tuesday.

McGlothern was included on the 94-man preseason watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the best defensive player in college football. He is one of 15 SEC players to make the preseason watch list for the trophy.

The Houston, Texas, native transferred to Arkansas after playing two years at LSU. During the 2022 season, he collected 52 tackles, one tackle for loss, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. He earned Second Team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches and Third Team All-SEC honors by Pro Football Focus.

McGlothern was named to a Preseason All-SEC team at SEC Media Days on July 19.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is named after Bronislau Bronko Nagurski, a Canadian-born professional American football player in the NFL, known for his strength and size. Nagurski was also a successful wrestler. No Arkansas player has ever won the award.

Limmer was named on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy, which is awarded annually to the nation’s most outstanding interior lineman.

The Tyler, Texas, native is coming off a 2022 season in which he started 12 games at right guard before moving to center for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Limmer earned Third Team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus and was named Second Team All-SEC by PFF and the AP.

Representing the Outland Trophy watch list are 91 returning standout interior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences and independents. The 2023 season will close with the award's 78th anniversary, and the watch list offers a talented field of players, including 16 SEC players.

Three Razorbacks have won the Outland Trophy Award in its history. Bill “Bud” Brooks and Loyd Phillips won the award in 1954 and 1966, respectively.
