I have confirmed that Arkansas will start LHP Colin Fisher against Grambling on Tuesday. First pitch at 3 p.m. CT.
Fisher made his first two collegiate pitching appearances last week and was superb, racking up 10 strikeouts and not allowing an earned run over 7.1 innings of work on the mound. Making his debut in a start against James Madison on Feb. 19, Fisher twirled five shutout innings with four strikeouts to earn his first collegiate win.
His second appearance came in a relief role against Oklahoma State on Feb. 24 in the Kubota College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field, where he struck out six over 2.1 innings out of the bullpen. Fisher’s six-strikeout performance against the Cowboys contributed to the Razorback pitching staff’s 25 combined strikeouts that broke the program record of 23, which was set one night earlier in Arkansas’ win over No. 7 Oregon State on Feb. 23.
