Great work from @DanielFair

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has said keeping in-state recruits home is a priority for his coaching staff. While the Hogs missed out on Little Rock Christian quarterback Walker White, a four-star recruit who committed to Auburn, there are still plenty of prospects in the state to keep a close eye on in the loaded 2024 class.

Rivals recently updated rankings for the 2024 prospects, and several Arkansas recruits saw their ranking update. With that, the overall state rankings also updated. Here's the top 10 players in the state of Arkansas for the 2024 class:

Walker White - No. 1 - Committed to Auburn

Former Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles stayed cool on White's recruitment while he was with the Hogs, opting to look outside the state to find his next signal caller.

Following Briles' departure to TCU, new offensive coordinator Dan Enos made White a priority, but it was too little, too late.

White committed to Auburn on Feb. 3, after announcing a top 3 of Clemson, Auburn and Baylor.

Braylen Russell - No. 2 - Undecided

At one point, Braylen Russell was Arkansas' first commitment in the class of 2024, calling the Hogs on Nov. 7, 2021, but he backed off his commitment on Oct. 9 of last year.

Russell is currently ranked the No. 20 running back in the country and No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas according to Rivals. He took a visit to Fayetteville on Jan. 21 during one of its Prospect Days, and he said recently the coaching staff is still keeping in contact regularly.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound rusher recently released a Top 10 that included Arkansas, as well as Kansas State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas A&M and others.

Brian Huff - No. 3 - Undecided

A newly-rated 5.8 four-star athlete out of Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Huff has made multiple trips to Fayetteville and told HawgBeat he plans to make a return trip on March 4.

Arkansas was his first Division I offer, which was extended on Jan. 25, 2022. Since then, he has picked up offers from Notre Dame, LSU, Arkansas State, Memphis and others.

Huff, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 210 pounds, plays both tight end and linebacker for Valley View. He is ranked the No. 20 outside linebacker in the nation according to Rivals.
