Just happened upon an old VHS tape that had the end of the '98 Miss St game on it.
This game was one week after losing to the NC Tenn Vols
We were two plays from Playing the Vols in Atlanta for the SEC (only because the Vols beat Florida by 3 in overtime) and we would have been playing them to see if we could go on and play for the NC as an 12-0 SEC team
Oh man that was a great Hog team.....Danny Ford had left so much talent
I will say that Tennessee and Miss St had so many miracles to beat Arkansas that I am never going to be ashamed of the Hunter Henry play at Ole Miss.......we deserved that.
The finish to the Miss St game was one of the most painful in history and it took a finish like where we had them beat over and over and they would just squeeze by each time to set up the winning FG which did not even look good on tv
Sure wish I had not found that tape.
