It's been talked about here before, but after watching the Hogs do the same crap on the diamond last night, there's something to be said for sure.
DVH has lost any edge he used to have. Yes, Nate Thompson is to blame for hitting adjustments, but he can't fire himself. DVH sits over there, claps a few times, and ho hums.
Dude is a straight up HOF coach, but he isn't getting any younger & the game has changed. This isn't 10 years ago where no HS kid or now portal transfer can't hit it hard and far. Analytics and technology have caught up with spin rates and 100 MPH fastballs, but DVH hasn't.
You see the same crap in football with Pittman limping around and talking about drinking beer during games, it isn't 1982 anymore. The game has changed. Hell, even Cal is struggling and he's been relevant for decades and adjusted to every change.
The game of baseball is evolving and we aren't. Good pitching doesn't always beat good hitting anymore. We need to make adjustments and evolve and the quiet part might need to be said a little louder now, can DVH make an adjustment to todays game?
