Arkansas had its sixth practice of fall camp Thursday and the media was let in to view the action for around 30 minutes. The team ran through individual drills and there was a fastball period as well.

Here are a few takeaways and tidbits from what I was able to see:

Practice No. 6 takeaways (8/10):

~ For the first time since the second practice, the team began outside for the first day of full pads. As we walked in, left tackle Devon Manuel was leading the team in stretches.

~ The temperature was mid-to-high 70s, but felt much hotter with the sun shining down.

~ The team mixed things up a bit by starting with the 11-on-11 fastball period, which is generally four plays for the first, second and third team offenses and defenses. Below will be a depth chart and a play-by-play from the fastball period.

~ Following fastball, the team transitioned into "indy" drills, which is just individual drills for each position group on different parts of the field. I focused on defensive line today during individual drills and my big takeaway was that d-line coach Deke Adams is constantly pushing his guys to have good reps. He doesn't care if they go four or five times in a row, they have to have a good rep.

~ The last thing during the media viewing period was three-on-three slot drills with quarterbacks throwing, two receivers running routes and either a running back or tight end also doing routes. Defensive backs and linebackers were playing in coverage during this drill.

~ Scouts from the Ravens, Giants and Vikings were in attendance.

Three-on-three slot takeaways

As previously mentioned, the team ran through a three-on-three slot drill in the final media viewing period. Here are some highlights from that, as we were not allowed to film.

~ KJ Jefferson had a couple of rough throws, including one where there was a miscommunication with Tyrone Broden on the left sideline.

~ Jefferson did find Marlon Crockett for a touchdown over the middle with Kee'yon Stewart in coverage. The next throw was a dropped interception by Jaylon Braxton.

~ Bryce Stephens had the catch of the day on the left sideline. Stephens caught a tough pass from Jefferson with freshman Dallas Young playing very tight coverage.

~ Jacolby Criswell had a pretty good day throwing the ball. He had a touchdown to Dazmin James with Metcalf in coverage and he also a really nice throw to Isaac TeSlaa in traffic on the right sideline.

~ Cade Fortin was looking to go deep for most of his throws and he connected with Sam Mbake on a deep touchdown with Lorando "Snaxx" Johnson not far behind in coverage.

~ Fortin also completed a touchdown to Isaiah Sategna, who was WAY ahead of freshman RJ Johnson over the middle of the field.

~ Malachi Singleton threw a touchdown to Crocket with Stewart once again in coverage on the walk-on transfer from Memphis.
