Notes

~ Running back Ja'Quinden Jackson now holds the season-low for any Razorback in pass blocking, as PFF graded him out at 0.0.

~ On the flip side, left tackle Fernando Carmona Jr. (82.8 PBLK), center Addison Nichols (72.0 PBLK), running back Braylen Russell (77.2 PBLK) and left guard Joshua Braun (73.3 RBLK) had good metrics in the blocking department.

~ Only three Hogs had a pass grade higher than 65.0: wide receiver Andrew Armstrong (65.4), wide receiver Isaiah Sategna (73.9) and Russell (74.2).

~ For the second week in a row, Arkansas' tight ends struggled. Ty Washington, Var'Keyes Gumms and Luke Hasz all found themselves in the bottom four of the offensive grades, and none had a pass grade over 60.0.

~ Unsurprisingly, quarterback Taylen Green finished second on the team in run grade (70.7) behind Jackson (71.0).

TAKEAWAYS

1. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy...

Arkansas' win over Auburn is huge for many reasons, but this kind of offensive performance will get the Hogs beat against tougher league foes like Tennessee, LSU and Ole Miss.

Up and down the list of PFF's post-game report card, some numbers stick out like a sore thumb. For starters, only one Razorback received a 70.0+ offensive grade (Sategna), and just six others capped out over 60.0+.

There are typically good and bad outliers after every game — and that remains true this week — but the number of grades within the 50s across every metric is unsettling. Out of 40 total grades between passing and run blocking, only four eclipse the 65.0 mark.

If Arkansas is going to beat Texas A&M on Saturday, the Razorbacks need more B+s and fewer D-s.

2. Arkansas Hasz a problem

What in the world is going on with Luke Hasz? This time last year, the former four-star had 15 catches for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Now, he only has six receptions for 91 yards and a single score.

Many were expecting a breakout campaign for Hasz, whose freshman season was cut short early on due to a broken clavicle against Texas A&M. Maybe there's still more in the tank for the Oklahoma native, but Arkansas needs to find it quickly.

Perhaps a redemption game against the Aggies is in store this week for Hasz, who would be a major complement in the pass game alongside Armstrong.

3. Keep developing Braylen Russell

Jackson has justifiably been the bell-cow for Arkansas through the first four weeks of the season, but Russell needs to continue getting more carries as the season plays out.

I'm not saying he should be relied upon as a consistent change-of-pace ball carrier, but utilizing his 6-foot-1, 253-pound stature in short-yard situations is a must.

Plus, Russell has proven to be strong in the pass-blocking area (although on limited reps). Against UAPB and Auburn, the freshman graded out with 76.6 and 77.2 pass block grades, respectively.
