Head coach Eric Musselman and the Arkansas Razorbacks will host North Texas transfer guard Tylor Perry on Friday, he told HawgBeat.

Perry, who was the 2023 Conference USA Player of the Year, averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals as a junior for the Mean Green in 2022-23. He shot 43.7% from the field, 41.3% from three and 87.2% from the free throw line.

The 5-foot-11, 182 pound guard was named the 2023 NIT Most Outstanding Player after averaging 20.6 points per game to lead the Mean Green to an NIT championship. Perry made 112 3-pointers, which was the second-most in a single season in North Texas history and he's only the second player to ever make more than 100 in a year for the Mean Green.

Perry had a team-best 87.2 free throw percentage, which was the fifth-best single season free throw percentage in North Texas history. He also led the team with 48 steals and he added 74 assists on the year.

A native of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma, Perry played for Springdale Har-Ber his freshman-junior seasons of high school before moving back to Oklahoma to play for Spiro High School as a senior. He has told other outlets that he has a great relationship with Arkansas recruiting coordinator Ronnie Brewer Jr.

After having no Division 1 offers out of high school, Perry went to Coffeyville Community College, which he led to the 2021 NJCAA DI National Championship. He averaged 17.6 points per game on the year and scored 18 points to go with seven assists in the NJCAA title game.

Perry then transferred to North Texas, where he was named First Team All-Conference USA in each of his two seasons.

As a sophomore in 2021-22, Perry was named the Conference USA Sixth-Man of the Year after he led the Mean Green with 420 points (13.5 points per game). He led the nation among reserves in minutes played, was second in the nation among reserves in points, 3-pointers and free throws, and he led all Conference USA reserves in minutes, scoring, 3-pointers and free throws.

He averaged 13.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals as a sophomore. Perry shot 42.2% from the field, 41.4% from three and 83.2% from the free throw line in 2021-22.

Arkansas currently has two transfer commitments from Washington transfer guard Keyon Menifield and Houston transfer guard Tramon Mark. The current scholarship distribution for 2023-24 has Arkansas at the maximum of 13, but announcements from current players are still expected.
