Paging @PorkshankRedemption to provide better analysis than just looking at the team statistics page on the website.

But we all feel like we are worse at the plate this year. And of course the schedule is much worse. Even against a weaker schedule, we are scoring less. 7.1 to 7.67. Taking SOS out of it and just looking at team stats.......

2021:
Team BA .267
Team Slg% .482
Team OBP% .387
2094 AB
561 hits
341 singles (61% of hits)
100 doubles (18%)
11 triples (2%)
109 HR (19%)
360 BB (14% of PA)
567 SO (27% of AB)

2022:
Team BA .277
Team Slg% .480
Team OBP% .382
1510 AB
418 hits
255 singles (61%)
86 doubles (21%)
10 triples (2%)
67 HR (15%)
223 BB (12.5% of PA)
353 SO (23% of AB)

Who wouldn't have been happy if you said we are going to have a higher batting average, less strikeouts, less HR, more doubles, with similar SLG and OBP% as last year? Those were the major complaints last year. Walks are down a little, but still good for 5th in the SEC.

We essentially traded Franklin, Goodheart, Opitz and Smith for Lanzilli, Turner, and Stovall. A drop but not as drastic as you might think.

People complain about Wallace but he's better across the board other than HR's.
Battles is having a better season offensively.
Gregory is better.
Webb is MUCH better.
Slavens is a wash.

Moore is so much worse......

Is clutch hitting the issue? We all feel that is something this team is missing but I have no idea how to quantify.

Dare I say.....should we be trying to hit the long ball more? Are we, but the weird 2022 wind/weather is a factor?

Is it something as crazy as one guy (Bob Moore) could turn the whole thing around by getting hot/clutch?
