I think most football fans understand a good defense can/will allow a team to win a high percentage of their games.
Having said that if you could choose a defensive unit to be elite on the Hawgs football team which unit would it be and why?
I assume the standard answer would be the defensive line.
Give me an elite secondary. If the hawgs have 2 elite CBs and a solid Nickle back they can commit more players to stop the run. How much better would we be if we had elite safeties with range to help stop the run and cover the middle of the field?
The way football is played now with every team running the spread and throwing the ball all over the field I think you need guys who can cover and tackle in space.
