Was curious and had a theory. So I looked back to 2009 season for 10 seasons of recent data. My theory did not pan out but sharing some data anyway.

Current Hog team is 37-12 and 17-7 with 6 pivotal games left.

2009-2018:
-Our most conference wins were 18 (2010, 2013, 2017 and 2018)

-the average is 15.7 (throw out 7-23 in 2016 and avg is 16.7

-CWS appearances in 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018

-The years where we made a Super: conference wins were 14 (2009), 18 (2010), 16 (2012), 17 (2015), 18 (2017) and 18 (2018)

-We won 40 regular season games once (2010). Won 39 twice (2012 and 2017)

-9 regionals. Was shocked to be reminded, we only hosted 3 of those (2010, 2017 and 2018...went 2-1 as host).

-4 Super Regional wins to 1 loss (2010) in that timeframe. We hosted two of those Supers, both were series wins.

-Our best finish in the last 12 SEC regular season games of any season was 9-3. Twice: 2015 and 2018 (both CWS appearances). But we lost our last 8 conference games in 2009...also a CWS appearance

-2019 Hogs are 5-1 heading into these last 6 games.

-Looked at our Friday/1st game of each SEC reg season series with theory that our better years were better in game 1: well sort of...

-...2018, we were 8-2 in SEC game 1s (with two close losses). We were 7-3 in SEC game 1s in 2010, 2011 and 2017. Lotta disappointment in those 7-3 post-seasons...

-Fwiw, in 2019, the Hogs are 6-2 in SEC game 1s...

In Summary: I probably should have just got an extra hour of sleep last night...

Just Host baby! Obvious statement is obvious.
