I am truly embarrassed to be an American

At the time that I am posting this, the race is still very close but the fact that it is close proves how absolutely stupid this country is. Obama has lied time after time, has put millions on food stamps, promised empty promises (unemployment, GITMO, transparancy, appointed lobbyist, debt reduction, Libya cover-up, etc.) and still may get reelected. Based on Obama's last 4 years, Romney should've won by a landslide. My guess is because he puts so many people on the government teet that they don't want to lose it and actually have to get a job so they vote him back in. There is no way for the conservatives to get power back because the working class is outnumbered by the "what can the gov give me" class and the margin will only grow. America is officially a European socialist country now and I am embarrassed by it's utter stupidity.

Sorry, I don't watch Fox news, nice try. It's just hard for me to believe that people can just look past all of his lies and political stunts over the last 4 years and can still vote for him.

Actually I have been looking for an honest politician on the national, state or local level for decades and have not found one.
IMO, the last president we had that was honorable was Harry Truman. I personally think our system is extremely corrupt and we are deluding ourselves to think we have a true Democracy and a splendid political system.

I do think we have the best system money can buy.

Oh, I agree with you about all of that and I'm not saying I was all in favor of Romney. I just can't believe people would still vote for Obama after all of his lies, empty promises and political stunts. I guess he bought enough votes with his "stimulus" payoff to his supporters (mostly green and unions), food stamps and unemployment benefits. As for honest and honorable, I would love to see Huckabee in 2016.

One last thing before I go to bed. I think it would help a lot if we junked the Electoral College and end the "battleground, swing state" corruption, but I see no chance of it happening.

I agree again, it's sad that this election is basically decided by just a few states. I was also just thinking on your "Fox News" comment and that may be how this election is even close and that is that nobody knows about or remembers all of Obama's stunts because the media protects him. He promised on day 1 that he would shut down GITMO, still open. He promised that if we passed a stimulus that unemployment would never get above 8%, it was over 8% for over 3 1/2 years (and wasn't higher because he decided to change the way unemployment numbers were figured to make it look better for him). He promised to never appoint a lobbyist and has appointed a bunch of lobbyist. He promised to be the most transparent president ever and I could make a mile long list on this. He promised to work with Republicans and then crammed Obamacare down their throats. His "stimulus" was nothing but "thank you" money given to his supporters. He stripped GM away from the stock holders and gave it to the auto union. Solyndra, no comment necessary. He promised to cut the deficit in half in his first 4 years and has more than doubled it. The Libya deal keeps getting bigger with every new detail released and yet nothing from the media. Of course, none of this is headlines news but the fact that Romney was a successful business man makes him an evil capitalist and that is headline news. I'm just having trouble seeing how people can look past all of that list and still vote for him.
