He was a power bat from Illinois who never had his Chad Spanberger moment and got it going with the Razorbacks. Spent three years in Fayetteville before transferring to Missouri State for his final season.
He would have had a homecoming moment of sorts on April 14 (next week
) when the Bears came to Baum-Walker Stadium for a midweek matchup, but of course the season was cut short.
Well, he was entered the transfer portal again. My guess is, being a senior who was given an extra year, Missouri State didn't want to renew his scholarship. Plus, he wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire. He had started six of 17 games for the Bears and was just 3 for 21 (.143) with seven strikeouts. Naturally, one of those three hits was a homer, though.
I hope he finds somewhere to play and finally showcases his potential. By all accounts, he was a great teammate and worked his butt off. Just doesn't always work out.
