Head coach Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks have been busy handing out offers in recent days to high school prospects in future recruiting classes.
Though signing day is a long ways away for most of these players, getting in on the ground floor of their recruitment is crucial in the long run. NIL (name, image and likeness) and others forms of payment for athletes have changed the game when it comes to convincing them to commit to a school, but establishing relationships early can't hurt.
Arkansas currently has the No. 27 overall 2025 class, and the Razorbacks have slotted in at No. 34 (2024), No. 19 (2023), No. 28 (2022), No. 24 (2021) and No. 41 (2020) during Pittman's tenure.
HawgBeat has more on the athletes who reported offers from the Razorbacks:
Colton Nussmeier - 2027 QB
The standout of Arkansas' recent offers, lefty signal caller Colton Nussmeier is the younger brother of current LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and the son of Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier.
Obviously the connection to the Tigers will be an obstacle for Arkansas, but the Razorbacks did land highly-touted 2025 quarterback Madden Iamaleava — whose big brother helms the offense for the Tennessee Volunteers — so anything is possible.
Baylor, Kansas State, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Washington, Wisconsin and others have offered Nussmeier, who earned Second-Team All-District honors after totaling 1,894 yards, 16 touchdowns and three interceptions in 10 games for Flower Mound High School.
