There were a lot of folks convinced that the Heat were this dream team and that they would still be a REALLY good team without LBJ, especially in the "terrible" eastern conference.

To recap, they missed the playoffs finishing 37-45, 8 games below .500. This with the addition of Luol Deng, the midseason signing of Hassan Whiteside, and the drafting of Shabazz Napier and late signing of Goran Dragic.

"They lost Chris Bosh!", you say. Their record when Bosh was announced lost for the season? 23-31, 8 games under .500, right where they finished.

So, what gives? 54-28 the year before (minus 17), winning their division and finishing second in the East. Lot's of folks were claiming they were the second best team in East without Bron, which funny enough is what people said about that terrible Cavs team he left that went from winning 60+ games to worst in the NBA.
