Only 3 games in, but interested to see y’all’s thoughts so far.
Iredale, Aloy, Davalan, Helfrick, and Maxwell are the locks to this point in my opinion. Thomas also seems fairly close to a lock due to what seems to be a lack of dependable corner outfielders. Especially with Maxwell banged up and essentially locked into a DH role right now.
That really just leaves 2nd base, 1st base, and RF as being up for grabs. I would’ve thought Peppi would’ve solidified one of those spots, but he’s left a little to be desired both at the plate and in the field. I do think Kozeal is going to grab onto a spot and never let go and Diggs will be tough to keep out of the lineup as well. We now live in a strange world where he is one of our better corner outfielders lol.
It feels like Souza could be the odd man out right now, but man I hope that’s not the case. I would love to see him get a look at first base or in the outfield. He raises the ceiling of this team if he can reach his potential and I hope he continues to get every possible opportunity. Will also be interested to see if K Aloy earns more reps from his big game on Friday.
