The Arkansas Baseball team is still on the prowl in the transfer portal, primarily searching for more pitchers to add to an already loaded staff.

Josh Harlow, a right-handed pitcher from Mercer, confirmed to HawgBeat that he visited Fayetteville on Friday and Saturday.

In 2023, Harlow only made seven appearances due to injury, but started the season as Mercer's ace. He threw 29.1 innings and gave up eight runs on 21 hits while striking out 35 strikeouts and walking eight. Harlow's ERA was just 2.15 and batters hit .202 against him.

During his 2022 campaign, Harlow started 15 games and pitched 67.2 innings. In that time, he accumulated a 4.92 ERA. The Garner, North Carolina, native struck out 84 hitters and walked 27 batters. Despite the higher ERA, batters hit just .221 against him.

Prior to Mercer, Harlow was a member of the Pittsburgh State Bulldogs, a community college in Pittsburgh, Kansas. As a freshman, Harlow made six appearances and finished with a 3.24 earned run average in 16.2 innings pitched. He recorded 14 strikeouts and 10 walks in that span.

Harlow would add starting experience to a pitching staff that already has two high-level projected starters in Hagen Smith and Brady Tygart.

At his next stop, Harlow will have at least one year of eligibility left. For a full current outlook of Arkansas baseball's 2024 roster, click here.
