Offense vs Defense #'s

[The Vanilla Gorilla]

2017 we finished 71st in scoring offensive, we are currently ranked 120th at 15.7.

2017 we finished 111th in total defense with 464 ppg, we are currently ranked 33rd with 343.3 ppg.

How can our defensive staff improve this much but the offensive side has gotten much worse. We all watched how bad the D was last year and now are watching our D play much better. Morris is supposedly an offensive coach, he looks way out of his league so far.
