I would like that twice if I could.Let's talk about the real crime here. OJ is largely responsible for making the Kardashians famous. For that he deserves the death penalty.
At a minimum.

Makes one wonder if has the CTE.Good series. Guy is a psychopath.
Possible, but I think he has CTA. Complete Total Asshole.Makes one wonder if has the CTE.
No it's not amazing at all. With a black jury looking to even the score for the Rodney King fiasco, did you really expect anything but an innocent verdict? He got away with murder as soon as the idiot judge allowed a change of venue. The murder took place in an elite, mostly white neighborhood, where OJ spent most of his time. That was not a jury of his peers, other than being black, he had nothing in common with the members of that jury. Verdict was in as soon as jury selection was complete.Amazing that he got away with it.

That jury has no shame. You need to have morals in order to have shame. That jury should be ashamed of themselves.
Ya I get what you're saying, but I still find it pretty incredible that someone gets away with murder when it's so blatantly obvious they did it. That jury should be ashamed of themselves.
Also, one of the jurors was a member of the black panthers. When the verdict was read, that juror stood and lifted his fist in the air.
Interview in the doc with one of the jurors:That jury has no shame. You need to have morals in order to have shame.
Ashamed of themselves? They were proud they freed a man who murdered two white people. Only other explaination is they didn't have the intelligance to understand the DNA results. That jury would not have found a black man guilty, even if he admitted under oath that he killed them both. The whole trial was a complete travesty, and it started with the politicaly correct make up of the court. One female prosecuter, one black prosecuter, and one oriental judge, all doing everything in their power to avoid looking like racists. Better to let a murder go free than to upset any more black people after the Rodney King debacle. AND, those cops involved in the beating of Mr. King, should have been prosecuted and sent to prison too.Ya I get what you're saying, but I still find it pretty incredible that someone gets away with murder when it's so blatantly obvious they did it. 2 wrongs don't make a right. if you want justice, there are ways to get it other than letting a double murderer go free. Only ignorant people would think you can further your cause by letting a double murderer go free as revenge for previous transgressions. That jury was full of ignorant people.I will say, I've always been bitter at the verdict. Every time I see Ron Goldman's father I get kind of a pit in my stomach. There was one point in the documentary that really struck me, was that sense of injustice, that feeling of anger that the system totally failed us is what the African American comunity had suffered for years in LA.
I'm absolutely not saying it's okay that the jury let OJ free, I've just never thought of it that way.
I don't remember the Korean shop owner killing the African American girl over the juice, but that lady got no jail time for that and that was after Rodney King. Again, I'm not saying it was right, but being incensed that the system failed in the OJ trial when it had shit on the AA comunity for years is naive.

No, 2 wrongs don't make a right, but you sleep in the bed you make and IMO, you're right to be outraged at the verdict but you should also be prepared to acknowledge that the seeds were planted many years before OJ killed his wife.2 wrongs don't make a right. if you want justice, there are ways to get it other than letting a double murderer go free. Only ignorant people would think you can further your cause by letting a double murderer go free as revenge for previous transgressions. That jury was full of ignorant people.
i couldn't disagree with you more. The entire trial was about race. If he kills Nicole before Rodney King, the DA doesn't feel compelled to have the trial downtown and he's convicted. It had almost nothing to do with being black. It had to do with being rich. If OJ was white, they would have had the trial elsewhere and a white jury would likely have acquitted him on the same evidence IMO. The glove was the killer, but being able to hire five of the best attorneys in the USA to get you off certainly helps too.
If OJ was poor, he would have been convicted.
Truth.

This is true as well. But every race does the same thing. It has not been that long that you could get a white jury to convict a white person for murdering a black person. To try to blame one race for thinking that way or absolve your own for thinking that way is just not dealing with reality. Tribalism runs strong in all people be it racial identity, social class identity, nationalism or any host of identities where an us/them dynamic can emerge.
For one recent example, I give you Treyvon Martin. The same racial opinions came down. The evidence was overwhelming that Treyvon was murdered by a vigilante. But an all-white jury acquitted. Similar with the police incidents that sparked Ferguson. Now I know, "that is different." But the only thing that is REALLY different was that the races were flipped.

I also do not think the jury got together saying "yeah, we all know he did it, but screw these white Devils, we're letting him go." I think the racial climate in LA at the time made it completely believable that the LAPD could/would plant evidence which made it easy to acquit him. It was almost like "we know how dirt the LAPD is and we're not going to let them get away with it this time." To them, it was justice.
And had he been white but still rich, the Trial would have never been held downtown. Maybe Orange County would have had the trial and the Jury would have been much whiter. Same if he was black and poor. If OJ was black and poor, he would not even be able to afford any of those attorneys. Nor would he have had the political pull to have the venue changed. Same if he was white and poor.
Sorry. Being Rich changed everything.
Hell. If it was Al Cowlings, he would have been convicted. AL does not have the same resources nor the celebrity status to do what OJ did. The crowds were not there to see Al Cowlings. And that is also very telling. Nobody gives a damn about Al Cowlings nor does he have the $$$ for the same defense.
If it was Orlando from the hood for Jethro from the hills, he would have been convicted.
Truth.
