I think this is a good read for fans of football recruiting. I am really hoping the OM commit fails because I am a RAZORBACK fan :)

Ole Miss quarterback commit Shea Patterson enters the Army All-American Bowl as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2016 class and the No. 3 overall prospect -- behind defensive linemen Rashan Gary and Dexter Lawrence.

Patterson has been solid and consistent during the week in San Antonio and should be in line to finish as the top quarterback in the country with a productive all-star game on Saturday. With the Rebels set to have Patterson on campus as a student later this month, here's a look at the last five Rivals.com No. 1 quarterbacks and how they have fared to this point.

2015: Josh Rosen - UCLA, No. 2 overall

As a recruit: The Bellflower, Calif., native was identified early as a natural at the quarterback position and entertained several visits including one just days before he announced for UCLA in March of 2014. He stayed solid for nearly a full year and signed with the Bruins, electing to stay close to home. It was a near certainty Rosen would take the quarterback job on arrival, and Rivals.com's Mike Farrell says Rosen is the best quarterback prospect he's evaluated during his career.

After high school: Rosen enrolled in January and started all 13 games for UCLA. He threw 23 touchdowns with 11 interceptions and guided the Bruins to an 8-5 record. Rosen passed for 3,668 yards and completed 60 percent of his throws. He also ran for two touchdowns. He earned Pac-12 offensive player of the week honors for a 34-16 win over Virginia and was the first player in UCLA history to start week one at quarterback as a freshman.

2014: Kyle Allen - Texas A&M, No. 7 overall

As a recruit: Allen is from Scottsdale, Ariz., but compiled a final five of Texas A&M, Ohio State, UCLA, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State before choosing the Aggies in June before the February signing day. He used a tremendous Rivals Camp Series stop in Phoenix to springboard a jump in the rankings. Allen was a four star when he committed but finished No. 7 nationally for the 2014 class.

After high school: Allen started the majority of his two years in College Station but exited following the 2015 season, in what is a trend with Texas A&M. Allen, Kenny Hill and Kyler Murray are all highly touted quarterbacks who have all left College Station in the last year. Allen is now transferring to Houston and will have to sit out in 2016. He had 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season for Texas A&M, though two of these picks were taken back for touchdowns against Alabama.

2013: Max Browne - USC, No. 7 overall

As a recruit: Following the script of most top quarterbacks, Browne committed early (April 2012) and stuck with USC through the recruiting year. He chose the Trojans over Alabama, Oklahoma and in-state school Washington. He was already a top-10 national prospect because of his 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame and strong arm. He excelled during Army Bowl events to solidify his spot.

After high school: Browne redshirted in 2013 and has been unable to unseat talented quarterback Cody Kessler the past two seasons. He's the favorite to be the quarterback in 2016, and that slate kicks off with a date against Alabama. He's thrown only 19 passes in his career with no touchdowns or interceptions.

2012: Jameis Winston - Florida State, No. 10 overall

As a recruit: Winston originally committed to the Seminoles six months prior to National Signing Day but kept the drama up between Florida State and local team Alabama all the way until ink met paper. Winston announced for FSU on NSD and signed after returning from the International Bowl in Austin, Texas. Baseball draft talk also stayed throughout Winston's recruitment, and he ended up playing both sports at Florida State.

After high school: Winston redshirted in 2012 before bursting on the scene a year later and leading Florida State to the national championship. He threw for 4,057 yards and 40 touchdowns that season. He won the Heisman Trophy and followed that up in 2014 with a very good season that featured 25 touchdowns and nearly 4,000 yards passing. The Seminoles lost in the College Football Playoff, and Winston declared for the NFL Draft. He was the No. 1 overall pick by the Buccaneers and had a quality rookie season.

2011: Jeff Driskel - Florida, No. 32 overall

As a recruit: There wasn't a five-star quarterback in this class, but Driskell was the best of the bunch at No. 32 overall. He had a final five of all SEC schools -- Florida, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and Alabama -- before eventually choosing the Gators over Auburn. Baseball was thought to be a factor in his plans, but he signed with Florida despite a rough season before he arrived.

After high school: Driskel played sparingly as a freshman at Florida. As a sophomore he, along with the help of a very good defense, guided the Gators to an 11-2 record and berth in the Sugar Bowl. He broke his fibula early in the 2013 season and was less than stellar in 2014, throwing for less than 1,200 yards in nine games. He transferred to Louisiana Tech and the year in Ruston was a quality one, as he threw for 4,027 yards. The Bulldogs beat Arkansas State in the New Orleans Bowl.
