YES!!! Regulation always increases freedom! And competition!

Wait and ask that question again in10 years.

Do you remember how de-regulation of the airlines and telecommunications killed both industries?

Yeah? Me neither.. both industries exploded after de-regulation.

Competition breeds innovation. Regulations kills innovation.

Not all regulations are crated equal. There are bad regulations that kill innovation and make things unnecessarily difficult for businesses. There are good regulations that help consumers and increase innovation. This is the latter.

By forcing companies to pay up or be put into a slow lane the ISPs would have hurt small businesses with great new ideas that don't yet have the capital to pay for the fast lanes. New ideas and companies would be shut out.

Another thing that I don't think people are understanding is that net neutrality has been around for as long as the internet. It is nothing new. Last year a federal court said that net neutrality would go away unless the FCC reclassified the internet. The FCC reclassified the internet. Very little should change. 10 years from now the internet will look and work much the same as it does now, the only difference will be that websites that wouldn't have been able to get over the hump of having to pay out extra money to the ISPs will be around to provide their content to users.

I supported at first as well but too many people made good arguments against it.

I can tell you a couple things to expect:

1. You will pay more

2. It will have an additional tax, like any utility.

3. We are going to see the end of unlimited plans and you will pay more not only for faster download speeds, but you'll probably be buying your data per GB.

Again.......amazed at the experts here who have NOT read everything that is involved with this act.

Obama lied when he said he would be transparent........

Sorry, but this sets me off. You guys and your jump to use your "Socialism" label because the government exists at all. Its like you do not understand the very entity that created the "free market" to begin with. There would be no free market or Capitalism without a government setting the rules and environment up for it to grow. There would not be an infrastructure to operate in and the "free market" that you claim the government is so overbearing in, would be a very feeble version of what you enjoy in this country on a daily basis, if it were not for your government. I do not understand how this has happened that government regulation has turned into a anti-country campaign. I do not understand why this has to be that some expect to have all the luxuries that come with living and starting a business here, but can not seem to accept the fact that the government played a huge part of the opportunity and freedom you have to do so. Yes, it is the individual that goes to the bank to start a business. What seems to be forgotten is why is you r business idea a workable option. Who funded the streets you drive your car on, the freeway?, the banking system you borrow your money from? who created labor laws that made it possible to build your wealth, by setting pay scales and work related laws and regulations that prohibited others in position of monetary power from abusing your labor, so you could build your wealth and have the opportunity to start a business? who provides the military to provide your freedom and protection in which to operate your business? Nah, the government has nothing to do with it. Without it, kids would be working for virtually nothing instead of in school where they learn so that they can be productive members of the next generation. All of it goes into the pot for our individual and countries success. How many businesses would accept the huge risk of operation if it not for the bankruptcy laws and limited liability laws put in place by your government? Bottom line is, there is no free market or Capitalism without our government.

You are totally wrong. If allowed to, the free market is self correcting and will take care of problems much more efficiently than government can.
