Rhoads said he has had several opportunities to jump back in it, but none were as appealing as this one. This was the right fit, he said. He said there’s a complete dedication and commitment here to the student-athlete. He’s looking forward to getting a room of his own and getting back to teaching.

Rhoads said he and Robb Smith have the same agent, so that is how he was able to reach out to him. He has never worked with Smith, but he has worked against him plenty of times. He called Smith a great defensive mind. He said they spoke earlier in the year because both teams played Toledo.
