Or to put it more simply, is there a state that produces a lot of recruits that don't pan out OR a state that doesn't produce a ton of recruits but the ones that they do produce are really good.
I looked at the 2020 NFL Draft's list of what state's high schools produced the most NFL Players (https://t.maxpreps.com/34dATkk) and which state's high schools produced the most FBS players in 2016 (https://bit.ly/348BV13). Granted there were 5th year seniors, redshirt sophomores, and leave early juniors in the draft, but I wanted a rough sketch. Assuming I can get the google doc to post, here is what I found.
