With the world indoor championships being held this weekend and the beginning of outdoor season beginning in earnest next weekend, I felt that it was an appropriate time to ask a question that has come up in my mind recently. The past couple of weeks have produced some interesting comments from people in baseball and track. Last week grumpy old timers, Goose Gossage and Carl Lewis, brutally critiqued the overall condition of their respective sports. And this week we see Bryce Harper making a similar statement concerning baseball. I often lament the waning popularity of track and field as it is one of America's great sports and the prominent jewel in the crown of the Arkansas athletic department. It makes me wonder, is there anything that can be done to pique the interest of a sports culture that just doesn't care for this particular form of individual, non contact sport anymore. What would be of most interest to all of you?
