Today. I don't know if the story should be looked at as the matter of record more so than the actual court documents it references and that are included in the story.

I remember when the book came out the admission that he "dropped his pants" in front of a trainer but with all this extra context, that takes on a new dimension. And, it would seem the Mannings broke a confidentiality agreement when they did that.

Who knows where it may or may not go.

You can read it here.

Wow, this raises a lot of thoughts. So much for doing things the right way it appears. Incredible this has been buried for so long. Deplorable what his family has done to this woman if this is all true, which it certainly appears to be.

There are LOTS of crazy rumors about Eli and Peyton. I personally believe that where there is smoke there is fire, but there is also the aspect of who they are and who their father is. I didn't click the link, by the way, just speaking from stuff I've read over the years.

Also, everyone has an agenda. That doesn't change facts

Total HORSESHIT!

Peyton is 100% innocent just as he is in the HGH allegations.

Not a single doubt in my mind, would bet money on it.

GH!!

The writer is apart of the black lives matter movement. Not saying this isn't true but the guy has a agenda

You would be correct, @UCABear_8. I think that's why taking a look at the court documents are important in this so folks can see what is a matter of public record and not just the view of a writer, or any writer.

There is an interesting movement in our country to seek out more real and honest information on people or things. That's good! People aren't perfect and I don't think anyone would expect that. But, I think we want people to be responsible for themselves and their actions. There has always been a debate about athletes and role models. Who is and isn't and what makes a role model and what doesn't.

I think by and large the sports media has a role in morphing this over the last many years by their actions around players like Manning, LeBron, and others.

Ultimately, we have to be the ones who separate this stuff out on our own. We have to realize it's a sport, that we all like to varying degrees, and that those who play are human. Once we let it get out of hand or let all the hype cloud our thinking or views about a sport or those who play it, we need to remember that it's a sport and it's only people who are playing. A lot like us in that we're only human and we too make mistakes and or don't do things perfectly every day were alive. But if we are honest about our shortcomings and seek to have that kind of humility to others, everything may work out a little better than it does often times.

The author didn't write the court documents.

Wouldn't be the first time an icon has been proven to be a complete dirtbag.

So Tn. Has been covering this kind of behavior up for awhile it seems.

Wow, just wow... I was just saying to a friend the other day how much I really admired and respected Peyton and his family. How wholesome and liked he is... to say that I am shocked and quite dismayed about this is an understatement. So disappointed.... where did all the REAL heroes go? Who do kids look up to? You just can't trust anyone can you? The only thing I never liked about Peyton was that he wore orange for 4 years. That list has now grown immensely.... no respect, smh... just wow...

Disturbing. If true, Peyton not only got away with a terrible, illegal act that should have resulted in punishment, but instead of showing contrition or at least moving on, he continued to go on the offensive to make stuff up, smear this woman's name, and effectively harass her -- that is a huge character flaw, a gross example of cognitive dissonance, and narcissism at its worst.

I'm not going to condemn him as a human being, not my place to do that, and certainly I don't know what all is true or false, but the court docs and legal record paint a really bad picture of Peyton on this deal.

Was the case settled, dismissed, litigated or what happened?

Did my own Googling. Ok so the suit against the University settled for 300000 for 33 allegations including the Manning incident. The defamation suit for being vulgar-mouthed likely settled in a confidential agreement.

Guys this has been on Peyton's wikipedia since his Colt days. Nothing new or just coming out. Have to agree with @Jonah1280 here, people have to separate stuff out on their own. If the first you had heard of this was from the book Peyton and Archie wrote you'd think the lady was looking for a quick buck. This guy wrote it to make Peyton look like a slimeball. have to do your own research to find the truth.

Absolutely. Not a new story. The Big Lead wrote about it two years ago. If the allegations are true or not doesn't matter, the guy that wrote it does have an agenda, and it's the only reason he's writing it now. If true, it's not good obviously. But for national writers to act like this is a new story is absurd.

King is after peyton manning, he wrote an article right after this weeks game about how sports are racist becasue Peyton didn't shake Drew Brees hand after he lost the super bowl to the colts, but that wasn't a big deal.
There is some truth in the article, but its so poorly written. None of that junk about "having state secrets" or "literally moving so no one could see my laptop" is needed.

Yes Peyton had his junk out in front of the lady and that is wrong. She's definitely in the right on that.

Everyone's for equality, but men shouldn't be allowed in women's locker rooms and women shouldn't go into men's. Some separation of the sexes is ok

Well he proved Peyton is a slime ball.

That's right focus on the writer. Next you'll be saying it's the victims fault.

Sounds like a slime ball to me. Some more of that good ole boy stuff from the South getting aware with anything they do with no repercussions.

Actually, if you will read, that's not what I said. What I said was, this is not a new story, and it's absurd for people to act like its a new story. To deny the writer has an agenda is to be purposefully blind. Never blamed the victim, never said any alleged actions were right.

I'm saying you show me a writer without an agenda and I show you an unemployed writer. The story is new to me and it appears many others. The only blind people are those that lied to avoid responsibility.

Most writers agenda is to the content that gets read. They don't write stories people won't read. This writers agenda goes beyond content, and to a movement that he strongly believes in and staunchly defends. That's my point. Not the alleged actions that occurred. Which if true, aren't good clearly.

If you hadn't heard about the story before now, I'm glad you were able to hear it. Although it's been written about before, and told before. Have a good day sir.

First time hearing it. Enjoyed the conversation, have a wonderful day as well. WPS!!!!

God it's hilarious how people bash Cam for leaving a press conference early but yet take up for Peyton for putting his junk in a woman's face like that. I don't find nothing wrong with either. They're just humans. Why can't you treat them the same?

Why didn't the writer treat them the same?
What did Manning have to do with Cam acting like a douche in the post game?

In one hand you have a very immature act, in the other you have very immature, criminal act.

Have yet to see anyone ITT take up or defend what Manning did. Maybe you read stuff elsewhere and try to make it stick here?

Oh, my bad, I thought you were intelligent enough to figure it out on your own. Here goes. This board has people that are constantly bashing Cam and praising Peyton Manning for being such a great guy. Thanks.

Troll meter is red lining. No one defended the allegation made against Peyton. Innocent until proven guilty is out the window, I guess. Everyone saw Cam act like a child with their own eyes.

Everyone saw Cam take 150k?

It was proven that Peyton lied continuously

I think the lady in question in all this is due her day in many, many ways. By all legal testimony, she did not do anywhere near what she was accused of doing. And, not only that, her career(s) were affected by things done that were not wanted or allowed based on law and an agreement they both had afterwards.

That's not her fault and that should be rectified.

Where I think we get caught up in things is we allow the promotion and hype to affect our views of situations like this due either to celebrity or due to a general denial that someone would do not only the original action in this situation, but then subsequent matters that came up after.

Maybe Manning changed - a lot - after what happened when he was in college. Boy, I sure have. I can look back at how immature I was. It would mean more to me - ha, like my feelings matter, which, they don't - that he deals with this openly and in a way that makes this lady whole. That would be a better display of character than anything he's done on the field.

After all, I would say that more than anything when we are wronged, we just want to be apologized to. She deserves more than an apology and if anyone could be in a position to ensure that happens, it's Manning.
